BROWN UNIVERSITY 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24
The Event: Each May, Brown University hosts their Graduation, Alumni & Commencement Weekend on their campus in Providence, RI. The event spans across most, if not all, of their many buildings and lawns across the east side of Providence. This event brings together many event companies including event rentals, caterers, tents, vehicle rentals and security. For almost 5 full days, our team worked day and night to ensure that everything was perfect.

My Role: Set-Up Supervisor
Responsibilities:
Kept track of equipment deliveries and set-ups
Ensured each set-up stayed true to the floor plan
Walked the labor through each assigned set-up
Communicated with other vendors
Walked the grounds to complete item retrieval
Outcome: This was an event I am proud to have been a part of. It was a massive undertaking and had many moving parts, long days and even longer nights. Overall it was a success for everyone involved and it introduced me to some great people.

The event is usually held around Halloween and is known to sell out. The event encompasses the entire library, covering six floors, event spaces, through the book stacks and back hallways. Every space is meticulously detailed to elevate the quests experiences.
My Role:

Special Events Society Spring Break Excursion. A trip held every year as an alternative Spring Break trip for students to work at events, network, gain knowledge and new experiences.
Cadillac World Golf ChampionShip held at the Trump National Doral in Florida. The event has since moved its location. The event takes place over four days and involved a training day for all volunteers.

Outcome: The SES & PGA side of the trip went very smoothly. However this trip showed us all the trouble with being forced to rely on outside individuals conducting certain important parts of the trip. If anything, this trip and event showed me how easy it is for a great day to end in crisis management phone calls. Luckily, we were all very prepared and were able to sort out out problems without hindering the trip entirely.
HMF- Comedy Night Series
The Event: Comedy Night was first started in (DATE HERE) as a fundraiser for March of Dimes. It quickly grew into something more. With the massive success of the first one, it was clear that this kind of event would be able to grow and become an annual occurrence.

Past Updates
Events & Video Update: Brown/BIO International - June 2018
I have had the pleasure over the last two months of working with some great people.
I was asked to come back to Brown University and help out the PEAK Events Services team, formerly Rentals Unlimited, with the Universities Graduation Ceremonies. Luckily, I was able to do this in-between shows at Freeman. The weekend consisted of long hours, a lot of work and late nights. It was great to come back to an organization where I can work with the crew side-by-side.
Here is a video of some quick snippets of the work our team did at Brown. There will be more videos of specific set-ups coming soon.
Immediately after Brown Weekend was the install of the BIO International convention in Boston. It is held at the Boston Convention & Expo Center, and practically fills the whole building. It covers all three Halls, as well as all the meeting rooms and public spaces. It is, without doubt, the largest event that Freeman Boston does.
After having done a successful video at the Seafood Expo (Post to come) I was asked if I might do one at BIO as well. It was decided that Hall C, the BIO Business Pavilion, would be the best place to film as it had the most construction taking place in one area.
The install video was shot over the course of a week, while the break-down video was shot over the course of only a few days. The Freeman Boston team (and the travelers that help) always works hard to put on an amazing show. There is no obstacle this team cannot overcome, including a Diana Ross concert right in the middle of our biggest show of the year.
Below are two videos, of the install and dismantle of BIO International. Both videos contain hundreds of men and thousands of man hours.

2017 was a very busy year for me. It started with a brand new job, I moved to Boston, visited LA and took on many more Freelance projects. I even took on some smaller side projects, such as using my GoPro to record timelapse videos of my events.
The biggest highlights of 2017 were working at the Patriots Ring Ceremony (I guess thats not happening again anytime soon), working at Brown University's Graduation, traveling to Chicago and working at events with various celebrities.
I ended the year by taking on a job with a leap of faith. I was asked to redesign and install new equipment for a local news organization in Providence. Their main focus is online streaming and needed to clean up their broadcasting area while adding two new ones. This was a new experience for me as I had never done anything like this before. But the job went well and the client was very pleased with my work.
I now enter 2018 by taking on more responsibilities with Freeman, a choice I believe will lead to more opportunities in the future. It is also a choice that will challenge me, as I can never seem to allow myself any down time.
While Freeman may keep me busy to the point of taking on less physical Freelance opportunities, I have decided to try my hand at helping companies from afar. Most recently, I have come up with a few ways for companies with small in-house budgets to track their labor, project needs and manage money effectively. Using formulas I created and utilizing the nearly-universally installed Microsoft Excel, my work is cost conscious yet effective. I hope to see these skills be utilized more as the year goes on.
Thank you 2017 and hello 2018!
Time Lapse - August 2017
Not too long ago I got the idea of taking time-lapse videos of the events I worked at. Not only would this be a good way to advertise what work I was doing, but it made my employers and the vendors look good too.
I knew that with the vast array of attachments and famous durability, that a GoPro was the right camera for the job. And sure enough, it was! I am very happy with the camera as it has exceeded my expectations. Other than event time-lapse, I have used my new GoPro for many projects and situations.
After the video is shot, I import it into Adobe Premiere, which I am still learning, and compile the final video from there. I hope to get better at this part of the process as this is the key part to producing a great looking video.
Below are two videos I have already produced using the GoPro and Premiere.
